The International Yoga,  Martial Arts and Meditation  Knowledge Centre in  the Monchique Hills in the Algarve, Southern Portugal, was set up  as a Janela Aberta 21 project in 2012 as a contribution the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.  In the pursuit of the goals of both inner peace and global peace, it promotes excellence in martial arts movement and Yoga, offering individual attention for the acheivement of optimum performance or rehabilitation via private sessions and bookings, group courses, 4 seasonal retreats, or regular weekly community-based yoga and martial arts. The Centre's director is Gordon Lee Silence, who has been practicing  and teaching  Martial Arts and Yoga  for over 30 years, studying Japanese, Chinese, Indian and Thai mind and body systems and using NLP to develop a learning experience founded in Wado Ryu Karate, Yang-style Tai Chi, Iyengar yoga and  various recuperative massage systems,  He is developing the style of Zen Tai Ki Do, a contribution to the long tradition of Martial Arts development. a practice ' Where  the form and flow of Yin and Yang meet the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path and the astanga of yoga in the peace and wisdom of the community of meditation  - with a post-2012 touch of Mayan Shamanic Magic to bring us to Universal Self Awareness and the bliss of that experience.'.
