The two main beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag and the water is of excellent quality. 100% of the energy obtained by the municipality derives from renewable energy and Westvoorne is integrating the municipal climate action plan of 2009-2012. It is aimed that Westvoorne, together with stakeholders and inhabitants, becomes an emissionneutral community in 2012. Gold Award 2011.
