The Pielachtal valley is a region in the centre of Lower Austria. The valley stretches from the gently rolling hill country up to the Alps of the Mostviertel region, around the natural preserve Ötscher-Tormäuer. Winner of the "Best Emerging European Rural Destination of Excellence" Award 2007 (project European Destinations of Excellence EDEN).

Nominated by the Austrian Ministry for Environment for VESTAS 2011.
