News Tailoring e.tourism for Silk Road destinations

Ecotourism Society Pakistan  (ESP) through its initiative The Region and UNWTO Silk Road office held 2-days workshop on Tailoring e.tourism for Silk Road destinations on April 10-11 for capacity building of stakeholders of Samarkand Uzbekistan at Hotel Caravan Serai. Issues relating Communication skills development, dealing with No Show issue, Branding the product, Tourism Management. e.tourism development techniques, Website hosting, Tourism management during low seasons, development of festivals, International Networking and practical training of E.tourism including usage of different softwares of  website development, hosting, movie making and Co-branding of products were discussed. Mr. Hasnain Khan of ESP presented Branding and management of co-branding issue and inform participants how they could develop their product as Brand.

Agha Iqrar Haroon former Consultant Ministry of Tourism Government of Pakistan explained participants how they could do marketing and promotion of their product through Electronic tourism marketing and provided training for using softwares, website development, movie making and Communication Skills.  The work workshop was hosted by Caravan Sarai and Mr.  Ravshan Turakulov was facilitator of this workshop who explained why it was important for young people of industry of tourism of Uzbekistan to attend such workshops, training and emphasised that constant trainings were very important to broad the base of  Uzbekistan tourism.. He appreciated role of  Ministry of tourism of Uzbekistan to promote and manage tourism in the country. He also strongly appreciated working of Minister of tourism and stated that Uzbekistan tourism will flourish because tourism minister is very much interested in development of tourism and he is very professional man hailing from tourism industry. He hoped ESP and The Region initiative would continue to support training programes for Uzbekistan tourism industry in future. He maintained that tourism development and promotion based is being expanded under the leadership of new Minister for Tourism and Oblast level Tourism Boards are being constituted.
