News The 6th European Tourism Forum!

The 6th European Tourism Forum will be held on October 25-27, 2007, as a joint initiative between the European Commission and the Government of Portugal, integrated within the programme of the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union. This is the EU tourism sector's most important event, which annually brings together the main authorities and stakeholders of European tourism.

Tourism is a main priority of the Presidency and the Forum will debate the Commission's forthcoming Communication on Agenda 21 examining ways and means of putting to practice a sustainable and competitive Tourism in Europe.

How can protected areas develop sustainable tourism strategies, can better environmental performance bring significant economic advantages or what measures can be taken to raise sustainability awareness within the tourism industry are examples of the key issues that will originate a substantial and enriching debate.
