The NHTV Centre for Sustainability, Tourism and Transport (CSTT) is an independent research and knowledge institute within NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences. It aims to contribute to the understanding of the environmental impacts of tourism and the tourism sector and, based on this knowledge, aims to support the industry with the transition to sustainable development. One of the main issues hampering the sustainable development of tourism is its contribution to climate change.

The CSTT approaches research in a multi-disciplinary way, where tourism and transport studies and geography mix with environmental and behavioural sciences, including business behaviour and governance. It researches, disseminates and educates sustainable development of tourism and transport and its core products are project reports, scientific and professional publications, and education.
