Having established(constituted) on January 13th, 2010 from Directorates of French Museums ((DMF), archives of France (DAF) as well as Directorate of Architecture and Heritage ((DAPA), the Department of heritages is one of the four main entities of the Ministry of Culture.

The missions of the Department of heritages

  1. A mission of protection and of preservation updated in the service(department) of an enriched heritage.
  2. A reinforced regulatory and technical control.
  3. A politics(policy) of promotion(valuation) opened on all artistic treasures and on all public.
  4. Creation and architectural quality: a priority for the attractivité of the territory.
  5. The decentralised network and the operators of direction(management): a supervision narrowed for a piloting optimised by public patrimonial politics(policies).
