Knowledge Networking Portal for Sustainable & Responsible Tourism
Tanja Mihalicˇ tanja.mihalic@ef.uni-lj.si is a professor for tourism economics and a vice dean for student affairs at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana (FELU), Slovenia. She is also a head of Tourism Institute and an academic head of master tourism programs. Her research interests include tourism economics and management, environmental economics, sustainability and educational and tourism industry values. She has experience in developing tourism educational and research programs and as adviser in sustainable and responsible tourism to national governments and EU and global bodies. Among others, she is a counsellor of Ljubljana Tourism organization, an expert evaluator for the European Commission and the member of the UNWTO World Committee on Tourism Ethics. She is editorial board member or field editor of several international journals.
FELU has 5.000 students, 150 academic and 100 professional staff and is a leading economics and business educational and research institution in Slovenia. FELU is a triple crown school, which places it among the top 1% of business and economics schools in the world. FELU tourism programmes hold TEDQUAL accreditation. Two tourism master programs (both in English) are routed in a full sustainability and attract foreign students and teachers. Tourism master program runs in Ljubljana, the joint Erasmus Mundus European Master in Tourism Management runs at three universities of Ljubljana, Girona and Southern Denmark. Teaching is based on tourism educational future initiative values (TEFI).
