Good Practice
The role of IREST is to provide useful informations for an eclectic public. As an independent organism, IREST can provide objective comments and evaluations of labels, laws or initiatives. We are able to understand the most complicated topics and share them in a simple way. Moreover, searchers and specialist usually find out informations sooner than professionals. We are also able to produce and share information with other specialists.
The development of our cluster project is going thought different steps:
Step 1: Gather a lot of contacts who declare to be interested in sustainable development and are involved in a related project. Use this data base in order to choose professionals we want to meet and investigate. This step is about having a lot of interviews. More than just asking about certification or labelisation, we want to understand the way they have been interested in this area by having a good overview of their experience.
Step 2: Feed our future web site with a lot of informations about sustainable development of tourism. The web site will feature both interviews, articles, analysis brought by our searchers and partners and a questionnaire enabling every professional to rank his implication in sustainable development.
Step 3: Use the community of the website basis in order to organize meeting with various actors of tourism. Those meeting will occur as often as possible and will have various topics regarding of the special guest we can have. Meetings are important in order to help a cluster to merge within time. This is the only way to create a viable dynamic in this competitive industry. In the end, IREST will be organizing and presenting the meetings.
For now, we are trying to provide various informations in order to have an interesting resource that will gather partners and visitors. At the crossroads of various French and European projects, we don’t want to interfere with them, but to help tourism actors to have a better understanding and a better access to it.
