Center of Studies on North/South Economic Researches. CRENoS was set up in 1993 with the purpose of organising the joint research effort of economists from the two Sardinian universities (University of Cagliari and University of Sassari) interested in the analysis of dualism at the international and intra-national level. Since then, CRENoS has promoted international research networks and conferences on the topic of convergence and growth and its main determinants. The centre is also active at the local level, promoting or co-operating in several projects concerning the most relevant issues in the Sardinian economy, such as tourism, environment, transports and macroeconomic forecasts. Research topic: economic growth or growth factors in the regions of Europe, tourism, environment and sustainable growth or empirical analysis of international growth; economic integration or international trade, agglomeration and localization ICT and economic flows, or North-South; technological progress and innovation in Italy and regions of Europe or innovation and local knowledge; finance, inflation and monetary policies or relations between finance and economic activity, economic and social access to credit; applied econometrics or non-linear models of macroeconomic and financial time series; models of regional growth or models applied microeconomics; public policy or education and human capital; natural resources or models for the evaluation of public policies; economic analysis of the judicial system or health; local economy (Sardinia) - CrenosTerritorio and Tourism; employment or environmental accounts and satellite account or Agenda 21 and environmental policies or analysis of the economic regions
