TOFTigers is a pioneering campaign and leader in advocating sustainable tourism in South Asia as a wildlife & nature conservation and destination management tool - with a seventeen-year track record and global supporters. Our mission is to make tourism a force for good – protecting biodiversity and culture, restoring habitats, supporting rural livelihoods, managing destinations and raising awareness of the vital role played by natural services from clean air, water security, carbon sequestration and flood prevention to food, medicines and wellbeing.
TOFTigers operates a supply chain pressure campaign involving more than 200 travel trade supporters. A central strand is the PUG and Footprint eco-rating certification for accommodation providers in wild & nature destination, a gold standard recognised standards by the UN-backed Global Sustainable Tourism Council, the first of its kind in South Asia. Already covering more than 70 places to stay in India and Nepal, TOFTigers aims to extend the PUG & Footprint -mark’s to reach across the continent to ensure a sustainable future not only for nature and local communities but also for all our futures. |
