Over the last five years tourism in Bulgaria is the fastest growing sector. Simultaneously, we are witnesses of a wave of local and regional initiatives for ecotourism occurred within the conservation or for marketing of local traditions, customs and culture. Strengthening the movement for nature conservation and ecotourism development is quite naturally during the transition to a market economy. Both tendencies are an expression of concern for the environment and cultural heritage. Nature conservation, cultural heritage and ecotourism are interconnected and need each other to achieve their goals successfully.The essence of our Bulgarian pride - the nature, traditions and customs of our history and our lifestyle - they have tremendous value not only our country but also worldwide. We must begin to look at these values as the comparative advantage of Bulgaria to the world that suffers from permanent loss of wealth in particular, that we have.
