Association was founded on January 30, 1996. Its mission is to propagandize and spread the main ideas, principles and value system of Sustainable Human Development Concept, world experience as well as the activities of UN structures in this sphere, to assist in elaboration and putting into practice the Concept and Program of Sustainable Development of Armenia.
The association works in national and international levels. It actively takes part in different projects and their implementation, in developing various documents, in conducting different seminars for NGOs and mass-media, lectures of sustainability issues for teachers and pupils and diverse workshops.

The association also contributes to sustainable development by publishing books like “GEO YEREVAN Assessment of The Local Environmental Conditions” (2007), “Sustainable Development Process at Local Level: International Experience, Problems and Perspectives” (2006) and others.
Association co-works with DESA, UNDP, UNEP, Earth Council, CEE Bankwatch Network, USAID, TACIS, WEDO, Federation "Save the Children", National Assembly of RA, Ministry of Nature Protection RA, Municipality of Yerevan, Centre of Constitutional Rights and others.
Association is a member of ECA NGOWGWB, Social-Ecological Union (SEU), ANPED, UN/NGO Regional Network for Eastern Europe & CIS.
