COURSE CONTENT

Short course description:

Usage of new technologies enabled very efficient models of energy management in hospitality industry but many hotels still do not use all available options in that field. Energy efficiency is not merely result of significant investments in sophisticated technology, but is also fostered by continuous monitoring and active management of energy resources used. Economically acceptable and energy efficient solutions as well as methods and techniques of finding them are key topics of this course.

Competences and skills:

-          Understanding the concept of energy efficiency, energy audit and energy policy in the context of hotels

-           Analysing available economically and environmentally efficient solutions for energy saving in hotels

-          Understanding the impact of energy efficiency of hotel on its financial performance, but also image on tourist market (eco-friendly tourists)

-          Finding relevant information on available funds for energy efficiency in tourism

-          Understanding the characteristics of green/eco hotels
