Contact Слоу фууд в България (Slow Food in Bulgaria)

This is the national structure of the international Slow Food movement that promotes local food and traditional cooking. Their activities are aimed at preservation of local traditions and gastronomic knowledge as well as stimulation of sustainable development by connecting food producers with their consumers – both individual customers and restaurants.

The Slow Food in Bulgaria movement is implementing the project "Eco-society through food: personal choices against climate change". The project aims at boosting citizens’ engagement with environmental protection and climate change through the setting up of a dispersed network of engaged partners that preserve, share and develop eco-sustainable plant resources and the relevant knowledge and attract young people, especially from and to less-developed areas with preserved biodiversity. By connecting academic and educational institutions with civil initiatives, the project plans to develop a science-based attitude to the use and protection of plant food diversity and awareness of the impact of our food choices on the state of ecosystems and the correlation between our daily decisions and global climate change.

Additionally, the Slow Food Plovdiv Network project connects a local community of citizens, farmers and small producers who contribute to sustainable changes in the field of food production and consumption.
