For the last 10 years ECOTRANS has been using the same card for Season Greetings – each year with a different comment on the latest climate change discussion. What did we learn from the past ten years so we can make a real difference in the next decade? We need to better join forces and collaborate if we wish to substantially contribute to achieving the 1,5° C goal (SDG 13) and create synergies with and between the other SDGs, a.o. 8, 12, 14, 15, 16 …. With Tourism2030 and the TRIANGLE Knowledge Alliance we have made a good step forward as a European network. As global platform ECOTRANS will launch at ITB 2020 in Berlin (4th March, 16:00 – 17:00 hours) the Travel Green Planet collaboration initiative to raise the sustainable tourism market share from 1% to 10% and more, targeting our actions towards conserving our precious and precarious protected areas –benefitting both the planet and people. |
