The Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection
The Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection performs administrative and other tasks related to:
- general environmental protection policy to fulfil the requirements for sustainable development;
- protection of air, soil, water, sea, flora and fauna in the totality of their interaction;
- development of measures to improve the environmental protection status and to implement the environmental protection goals as laid down in the environmental protection strategy and to prepare reports on the environmental status in the state;
- proposing, promoting and monitoring of measures for environmental protection improvement;
- systematic monitoring of the environmental status;
- keeping of the environmental information system, establishing environmental measures, requirements and approvals;
- waste management; development of proposals for environmental protection standards;
- assessment of working conditions for legal and natural persons in the field of environmental protection;
- achievement of international environmental protection co-operation;
- environmental protection inspectional tasks;
- encouragement of environmental protection-related education and research etc.
