The "European Eco-Tourism Labelling Standard" (EETLS) was developped by the ECO-DESTINET project (2007-2010) and shall give guidance to Eco-Tourism certification programmes and initiatives in Europe. Since September 2011 the EETLS is a "GSTC recognised standard".
In 2011-2012 the EETLS is revised and completed with indicators. It is the common base for the new European Ecotourism Network.
