Preferred by Nature (formerly NEPCon) is a global non-profit, mission-driven organization that works to support better land management and business practices that benefit people, nature, and the climate in over 100 countries around the world. Our vision is a world where human choices ensure a sustainable future. The Preferred by Nature Sustainable Tourism Certification Services are based on improved and innovative standards (recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council – GSTC) and implemented using third-party auditing systems that evaluate and recognize the sustainable performance of Accommodations and Tour Operators around the world. Through the services and operations of all Preferred by Nature certified accommodations, Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and tour operators, we seek to influence positive impacts for the environment, the local people and the global travel community and actively contribute to the travel industry efforts in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. |
