Knowledge Networking Portal for Sustainable & Responsible Tourism
The conference’s main topic is Destinations and Labelling for Ecotourism Development in Europe, and it offers one of the best opportunities to get in touch with professionals in ecotourism across the continent and beyond. The objective of the conference is to put together responsible practitioners and ecotourism developers in order to address the following questions: 1. How can we create a set of standards for ecotourism in Europe that will be supported by a wide range of industry stakeholders? 2. How can the industry strengthen awareness of the concept of ecotourism destination as one of the main tools for nature conservation and regional sustainable development? 3. How can the concept of ecotourism destination aggregate a common interest of the main ecotourism and protected areas promoters in Europe in order to better communicate with the general public and potential tourists? For two days the participants will be involved in provoking debates about the current understanding and future development of common ecotourism initiative for Europe. The participants will also have the opportunity to experience some of the most inspiring ecotourism offers in the Romanian Carpathians: searching for wolves, bears and lynx tracks in the Carpathian forests, hiking or biking along the trails crossing some of the most exciting high nature value landscape of Europe, discovering the proves of long history of multi-ethnical culture of Transylvania and much more.... |
