Olympic Rings of Light

Many of us feel compassion towards the millions suffering all over the world, yet, as individuals, we also usually feel unable to change things. There must however be a turning point. The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is that point where it`s clear to see the true morality of our global leaders, and how they run our global lives. You may already know that celebrities like Mia Farrow, Steven Spielberg, and Richard Gere, or politicians such as US Speaker Nancy Polancy and the European Parliament as a whole, and a host of civil society groups are publicly calling for the Chinese government to halt its repressive human rights policies. This is a unique opportunity to add your individual voice to millions of us who are already saying:

No War - Athletes to compete under conditions of a global ceasefire and compassionate friendship between nations. That is the Olympic spirit.
Save Darfur - Raise public and private funds to end the suffering of the people of Darfur, where China is getting 10% of its oil supplies by supporting the Sudanese Government´s genocide program.
Free Tibet – China should open up Tibet to world media, free its borders, and allow the Dalai Lama’s safe return.

We are asking for your support and participation in a call for unified local-to- global strategic action:- we will be asking you to support an amazing local event in Lagos Southern Portugal (or your own local version), get friends, family and work colleagues involved to spread the Word, write to media and sports personalities and politicians to make our Words heard, and stop buying goods from the Olympic commercial sponsors for a year to show that we as consumers do have a moral conscience. And we can do this alone and together… Please read more about our programme to form Olympic Rings of Light, and then stand up (or sit down!) with us this summer to end the immoral conditions of modern day economic oppression, sexual slavery, worldwide apartheid and the destruction of culture and nature in our globalized economy.
