AMADEUS identifies sustainably certified accommodations

Amadeus labels certified sustainable accommodations in the Amadeus Bistro Portal, in the Amadeus Leisure IBE Advanced and via the Amadeus Leisure IBE Web Service
The new hotel attribute “certified sustainable accommodation” is now available in the Amadeus Bistro Portal, in the Amadeus Leisure IBE Advanced and via the Amadeus Leisure IBE Web Service. This allows travel agencies and online bookers to specifically search for all hotels that have the relevant sustainability certificates.
These accommodations, which are marked based on the data from the provider FAIRWEG, are marked in the results list with a “STAY FAIR” symbol. The basis for the dynamic selection of accommodations are valid certifications that follow the standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council and have established transparent testing processes. The selection of certificates and their regular updating are carried out by FAIRWEG in cooperation with the European network for sustainable tourism ECOTRANS. As sponsors, the AER Cooperation, Ameropa-Reisen, Lufthansa City Center, OLIMAR Reisen and QTA support the “ STAY FAIR ” project as well as Schauinsland-reisen and TUI.
“Incorporating sustainability criteria into travel advice and travel searches is becoming increasingly important. We are pleased to now make this new hotel attribute available to our travel agency and IBE customers together with FAIRWEG,” says Dr. Oliver Rengelshausen, Managing Director of Amadeus at the Bad Homburg location. “Surveys with our customers confirm the growing need for transparent information that enables sustainable travel decisions. We will therefore continue to expand the hotel’s sustainability attributes.”
