News European contest "Ecologically sound Travel in Europe"

Regions and destinations, tour operators, traffic and transport enterprises, accommodation businesses and consumer-oriented organisations and initiatives from all over Europe are invited to submit their application online in German or English. Date for Submission is October 7, 2005.

In the context of the Austrian EU-Presidency the Federal Ministry for Agriculture and Forestry, Environment and Water Management, the Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology and the Federal Ministry for Economy and Labour invite to participate in the European Conference “Challenges and Innovations in Environment, Transport and Tourism” from 30-31 January, 2006 in Vienna. The central subject-matter is ecologically compatible mobility in tourism and leisure. The aim of this contest is to award practical projects, activities and initiatives embedded in the contradictory context of tourism and transport, which bring in line ecology, mobility and tourism. The conference precedes a European Contest for Best Practices. The winning projects will be presented to a broad public during the conference and released on the Internet.
