News PROFIT in the Pacific - Tourism Investment Conference & Partnership Meeting in Fiji, 1 - 4 February 2005

The aim of the PROFIT Pacific Tourism Investment Conference & Partnership Meeting is to bring together tourism businesses in the South Pacific region and investors from Europe and Australasia, that are seeking to make sound investments in the emerging tourism sector. The Conference will take place in the Sheraton Hotel, Nadi, Fiji from 1 - 4 February 2005. At the meeting a series of workshops will be held, and a parallel matchmaking process will operate whereby tourism enterprises and investors can meet and initiate potential partnerships. These partnerships can then register and apply for 50.000 EUR of funding from the EU PRO€INVEST-CDE programme to go on with their projects. Examples of forthcoming projects so far where Pacific enterprises are seeking partners are in the fields of waste management, hotel development, water based activities and ecoresorts.
