On the eve of the final day of the Copenhagen talks, DestiNet Climate change folder adminstrator Gordon Sillence reminds tourism stakeholders of the need for global agreements on climate change as the basis for sustainable tourism development.

´After Copenhagen we enter the 2010 Biodiversity target year zero, at which point the extent of the crises of unsustainable development patterns will be more fully apparent, and we will be looking for further government stabilzation of the conditions for responsible business in order to safeguard the cultural and physical treasures of our global ecosystems, which as we know are the basis of tourism sector activity. The sector needs good governance now, and politicans must lead that process, working with tourism and environment administrators and business leaders to meet the needs of the voiceless millions and countless species who lives are on the brink of disaster. `
