SECTION	ASSIGNMENT	TIME	SUBMIT
1	1: Make notes of the italicized texts and key phrases to form a word map of the subject matter. Make a glossary of terms with which you are not familiar.	1	⊗
1	2: Set up a debate with two of your colleagues. The question to answer is: Is Green Capitalism or Caring Socialism the Best Governance System for the Implementation of Agenda 21? You will need to provide each proponent with a list of arguments of up to 7 points. You will also have to end the debate with a statement of resolution, based on the points each proponent has argued.	2	⊗
2	3: Download the Law of Sustainable Development Report and read it (Pay particular attention to its content list first, then understand the principles it expounds. Commit them to memory. Once you have read the book, please read the following discussion of its contents before you undertake the module assignment.	4	⊗
	4: Familiarize yourself thoroughly with & commit to memory the 12 principles of sustainable development	2	⊗
2	5: Having read the law of sustainable development and this section – prepare two 5 minute presentations on its message for a 1) a lay person’s audience and b) scientists and administration officers in a local town hall meeting debating a green field site development	2	⊗

2	7: Listen to the David Icke video to gain an overview of his position, then use the THRIVE film to counter his arguments, using this course material to frame a positive vision of Agenda 21.	3	⊗
3	Student assignment 8: learn the 12 principles that should guide tourism policy making. Then apply them to one key topic of your choice and prepare a 10 minute presentation on this process. Your presentation should take into account a real policy line and show how these principles guide its application to your chosen subject.	2	⊗
3	9: Visit the Who’s Who of sustainable & responsible tourism on Tourism 2030 to see the key stakeholders. Familarize yourself with their roles in the overall sustainable development process.	1	⊗
4	9: Module comprehension activity. Take the DIPSR model and apply it to a tourism activity of your choice. Prepare a flow diagram to represent the DIPSR issues and explain (provide 500-1000 words) the diagram.	3	⊗
