Reason for taking the good practice action	The aim of FTT is to make tourism more sustainable by ensuring that the people who contribute their land, resources, labour and knowledge to tourism are the ones who reap the benefits.

Methods /steps / tools used (to develop the good practice)	*Actions for innovation*: 1. The sustainable business cluster on the Cape Whale Coast consists of the following FTT-certified enterprises: Grootbos Private Game Reserve (2006-2014), Whalesong Lodge (since 2013), Marine Dynamics (since 2007), Dyer Island Cruises (since 2007), White Shark Projects (since 2009) and Southern Right Charters (since 2011). FTT certification is a hallmark of best practice in sustainable management; environmental performance; socio-economic impact; and protection of human rights and culture. The businesses in this cluster collaborate with regard to marketing, conservation, travellers philanthropy and empowering people historically disadvantaged by apartheid. 2. The sustainable business cluster on the Wild Coast consists of the following FTT-certified enterprises: Calabash Tours (since 2004) and Volunteer programmes (since 2010), Volunteer Africa 32 Degrees South (since 2010), Buccaneers Lodge and Backpackers (since 2010), Coffee Shack (since 2007), Mdumbi Backpackers (since 2011) and Bulungula Lodge (since 2006). The Wild Coast is one of the poorest regions of South Africa and this business cluster is committed to developing black entrepreneurs, in particular youth, and mobilising external resources for community development projects and providing services that the state lacks capacity to deliver. Two businesses (Bulungula and Coffee Shack) are wholly and partly community-owned, respectively. The Wild Coast comprises pristine beaches and high levels of endimism and tourism is one of only a few economic activities that mitigates environmental risks associated with extractive industries, in particular mining (silica).

Methods /steps / tools used (to develop the good practice)	*Actions for innovation:* Focus on the eco label enticing the hotels to register as a member of the Seychelles sustainable tourism label by encouraging them to implement sustainable practices like water and energy conservation, waste management, adopting areas of high biodiversity importance and other sustainable practices e.g involvement in turtle conservation through monitoring as well

Specific/measurable results, benefits	Countrywide awareness on the important of sustainable and responsible tourism in Seychelles, ranging from school children , NGO’s , government agencies, media, community involvement, hotels, and other tourism businesses.
