<font size="2">Following the goals defined in the previous edition in 2004, the international seminar on Sustainable Development Indicators “Integrated sustainability assessment and reporting” aims to promote and communicate the results of SIDS Algarve and to share knowledge and international experiences, with a focus on the role of indicators in sustainability assessment and communication at the regional scale. This event also tries to ensure the presence of international experts on the main issues and challenges of monitoring sustainability and its strategic tools. Those issues include several aspects such as the importance of the institutional component of sustainability, the conceptual models, the articulation between different territorial scales and the role of public and private organizations and civil society.</font>
