News Call for papers: Communities as part of sustainable rural tourism

The International Conference on Community Tourism "COMMUNITIES AS A PART OF SUSTAINABLE RURAL TOURISM – a success factor or inevitable burden?" will take place 10th-11th of September 2013 in Kotka, Finland

Call for papers

The aim of the conference is to provide the most uptodate information and practical experiences in community based tourism where the community plays a central role in the development of tourism. In rural areas particularly, entrepreneurs typically need community support for successful tourism destination development.

The conference presentations will highlight how communities can be successfully integrated into the development of rural tourism; the benefits which can be gained and what practical level challenges exist. In addition, the conference will provide an excellent opportunity for participants to share their experiences and learn from each other!

The conference is targeted at community facilitators and developers, business advisors and developers, researchers, entrepreneurs, administrators and policy makers related to the topic.
